After the drought and the pond refilled we stocked channel catfish and fathead minnows. Other new visitors include a 4 foot tall blue heron and numerous turtles. In the evening you may even see some deer quenching their thirst.
We just saw a Pileated Woodpecker which is the kind that was used for the model of Woody Woodpecker. It stood about 18-20′′ tall and was an incredible sight.
For the first time we have seen five ducks at pond but have been unable to identify the type. Kingfishers are also frequenting the area. We surprised a resting coyote one evening when on our way to feed the fish. You never know what God has in store for your visits.
